About the Book
When a family welcomes a live-in caregiver into their aging father's home, they believe they're making the right decision. But as boundaries begin to disappear and trust is misplaced, one daughter recognizes troubling signs that others are unwilling to see.
Family Shattered is a true story of manipulation, exploitation of an aging father, and the devastating consequences for his family. It is also about trusting your instincts and finding the courage to speak up when something feels terribly wrong.
Meet the Author
Piper-Lynn
I am a Canadian author whose writing journey began unexpectedly, born from a desire to put a deeply personal experience into words.
My life has taken me through many chapters, from raising a family to running my own business, and now discovering a passion for writing. As a wife, mother, and Nanna, I enjoy travelling with my husband, exploring new places, and spending time with family and friends.
I have always been fascinated by people's stories and the lessons we gather along the way. What began as one story has opened the door to a love of writing. Now, as I explore fiction, I am discovering that there are so many more stories waiting to be told.
I'm pleased to share that Family Shattered received a Third Place award in the Nonfiction – Memoir/Personal category at The BookFest Awards in 2026.
